Getting Started

  1. Join the meeting.
  2. Schedule a time.
  3. Elect a Secretary. A Secretary:
    • Upholds group conscience.
    • Does not lead or govern - they are not "in charge".
    • Upholds cross talk rules and keeps the meeting safe.
    • Opens as necessary.
    • Delegates responsibilities he or she has to others as needed or appropritate.
    • A new Secretary can replace an existing meeting Secretary by group conscience.
    • May be multiple people taking turns. (this may be recommended)
    • Must have a login account to Fully Express.me to make use of its features.
      • It's easiest to use the Google link - for most people this is a single click.
  4. Ensure everyone has materials!
    • Meeting Secretary has digital copy to share on screen?
  5. Establish expectations
    • Are you working independently or together on exercises?
    • What pace do you want to keep?
Benjamin: It's common to want to start with a very fast past and "get it done" but changing a lifetime of habits takes time. I suggest taking as much time as needed on every exercise to get the maximum amount of benefit!.You aren't doing this for anyone else; this is for you. You're worth it!
    • Do exercises together or independently?
Benjamin: I have so often had my perspective changed on a particular exercise by somebody else's input that I prefer to work together on the exercises if possible.
    • Managing finances
    • Other input?
  6. Give it a name! What would you like to call your group? Choosing a good name goes a long way to build spirit and establish expectations.
  7. Edit Meeting Format. Secretary can edit the meeting format online at any time. If the Secretary shares screen, it becomes a collaborative exercise to develop a meeting format that everybody feels good about.
